Our Name

Why ‘Bold Maroon’?

Experience has taught us that change, transformation, and making a meaningful impact requires boldness. The boldness of Nanny of the Maroons, the fierce freedom fighter and leader of the historical maroons of Jamaica. And the boldness of the late, John Wolmer, who willed his estate to set up the first free school in Kingston, the Wolmer’s School that has as its colors rich maroon and gold. Our founder and CEO, Shelly-Ann, was educated at the Wolmer’s School in her high school years.

It is against this historical backdrop that the name Bold Maroon was birthed to help individuals and companies create bold, assertive, and unforgettable brands.

The Bike

What’s the deal with the wheels?

Building impactful brands take time. Like riding a bike, the results on the journey are based on the work and momentum invested. So, we must do the work. But, more importantly, we should embrace that we all may not go at the same pace, but it is important to continue moving forward to get to where we want to be.

Our Values

The stuff that matters

Be Bold

We make an impact by living and telling our truth no matter how scary it is. If something is meaningful to us, we know it has the potential to add value to someone else’s journey.

Be Authentic

For us, staying true to the soul of our brand, and consistent in the messages we deliver is important. And, we do the same for our clients. We believe that’s how loyal brand communities are built.

Be Empathetic

We care. We care about creating environments where people can be their whole self and feel a sense of belonging. We care about giving back to communities and paying it forward. We care about maintaining our natural resources for generations to come.

Be Respectful

We are bold and passionate, and we always make room for spirited, respectful dialogue. We know that our commonalities bring us together but our diversity of thought fuels our innovation.

Our Mantra

Keeping our eye On the Prize

Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

For the change-makers. The trailblazers. The innovators. The pioneers. The ‘first-ever-to’, type of people.

How did they do it? What do they all have in common?

They started. And then they stayed the course.

We like those kinds of people. We are those kinds of people.

The ones that do the hard work. The ones that make something out of nothing. The ones that take an idea and turn it upside down. Then inside out. And however many other ways it takes to get it right.

You don’t have to have it all figured out to begin. You don’t have to know exactly how you’ll get where you’re going. You just have to be willing to start and grow.

You bring the will. We’ll find a way.
